Thank you!

Thank you to all of you who attended our 25th Reunion. I was beaming with Colt pride when I left the Double Tree Saturday night. Not because of how the event turned out, but because of YOU! You are a CLASS act. Everyone that attended truly cherished the time that we were able to spend together. You were so appreciative of our efforts to provide a fun-filled evening. Thanks to Charles and James for being awesome to work with. We had so much fun planning and preparing for the event.

Please continue to contact classmates to register here on our website so we can gather their contact information. We want to make contact with ALL of our classmates before our 30th.

For those of you that were not able to attend – we missed you and hope that you will be able to attend our next gathering,

In a few weeks, I’ll send out an e-mail to get feedback from you about the evening and about us getting together more often. I have had so many classmates contact me suggesting a scaled-down yearly event prior to our 30th. Sounds like fun to me!

Hope to see you again soon!

Reunion

I too want to thank Renee, Charles, James, Theretha and Angie Z. for a wonderful and very well planned evening.  It was a night to be remembered always.  Robby said he didn't even want to go to his reunion after going to ours, because it would be hard for anyone to live up to the wonderful time and well planned event that we had.  Everyone looks great, and it's was so good to see you all and share so many wonderful memories.  I agree with Todd in regards to an annual, casual event.  I miss you all already!  To the greatest Class Cape Fear ever managed to produce.  Cheers to you all!!

Sara Tate
Annual Get Together.....Please !!!

I agree with Todd, we all need to get together, at least once a year. It can be less formal. We can reserve the same rooms, but this time, make it last until 2pm !!!! For a cost reduction, everyone can eat before they arrive, so we can have more time catching up with each other. Please give it some consideration, because like Todd said, Father Time is catching up with us all too quickly and in five years I may need a walking cane to get to the dance floor...lol !!! Just some thoughts and suggestions. Keep us posted. May God richly bless each of you and your families and may all your dreams come true....I love you all :-)  P.S. My cell is (910) 364-6910 and my email is rodney.strickland@hotmail.com, if any of you ever need me for anything. Until we meet again my friends...

PRICELESS !!!
Had the most wonderful time laughing and catching up with my friends. I felt like I was literally dreaming and time was standing still and frozen, sort of like I jumped into a Time Capsule and traveled back 25 years ago. When I arrived, I noticed quickly that time had taken... its toll on our appearances physically; but oh the love, the memories, the laughter, the hugs, the smiles, all those were just as young as they were back then... when we were energetic and full of life, ready to conquer the world with no restraints! Some of our classmates were not there physically, because God's time for them had come years ago, but their spirit and love was seen in each of us, as we remembered them. God reminded me last night and this morning that life is so, so precious and it is to be lived on purpose and that I need to make each day count, for time waits for no one. To all my classmates, I love you all so much and I pray that God's plans for your life be revealed to you everyday, because real life begins in Him. Until we meet again...
Rodney Strickland
Thank You!!!

Thank you to Renee, James, Charles and all who shared their time and talents.  It was a lovely evening… truly a special event… and I will treasure the memories until we meet again.   May God bless and keep you and your loved ones!

To Renee, Charles and James and everyone who had anything to do with the reunion.......Job Well Done! It was absolutely unforgettable! You all are to be highly commended for your efforts. I do believe everybody that was there had a great time (including the spouses)! I even heard one spouse comment that she had a better time at this reunion than she did at her own! What a wonderful night!!

Wow!  I had a great time at the reunion tonight.  It was great to see old faces and meet news one.  I danced with an asst. principal at the prom and the principal at the reunion; I am moving up in the world.

I really think everyone enjoyed themselves.  A very special thanks to all those that had a part in planning the reunion.  I know that it was time consuming but a true labor of love.  Also thanks you to all the spouses that helped out as well.  The night was a success.  Great job!!!!

My High School Crush

OK "" FOR SOME NO APPARENT, ABSOLUTELY CRAZY REASON I JUST FELT COMPELLED TO WRITE AND SHARE WITH THE CLASS OF 1986 THIS STORY OF MY HIGH SCHOOL CRUSH......

I WAS 15 YEARS OLD, MY MOM HAD RELUCTANTLY INTRODUCED ME TO HER. . IT WAS LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT! SHE WAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING I HAD EVER SEEN! WE WERE EVEN BORN THE SAME YEAR, 1968.

NO, THIS IS NOT ABOUT TRACY BORDEUX, EXCUSE ME, I MEAN TRACY PAGE....LOVE YA DEAN OR IS IT ABOUT ANY OF THE MANY BEAUTIFUL GIRLS THAT ROAMED THE HALLS OF CAPE FEAR DURING THE YEARS WE WERE THERE.

IT'S ABOUT MY CHEVELLE.

THE COLOR WAS BLUE AS THE SKY. THE CHROME BUMPERS SHINED LIKE STARS ON A DARK CLEAR COLD NIGHT. ALTHOUGH IT HAD A FEW SCARS I WAS NOT ABLE TO SEE ANY OF THEM.

ALL THROUGH THE HIGH SCHOOL YEARS, ALL THROUGH THE SPEEDING TICKETS I GOT,  ALL THROUGH THE TOO MANY TO COUNT CLOSE CALLS, ALL THROUGH EVERY RACE WHICH IS ALSO WAY TOO MANY TO COUNT, ALL THROUGH RAIN AND SNOW, ALL THROUGH HOT DAYS AND COLD NIGHTS AND ALL THROUGH THE CRAZY FRIDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHTS {GO WHERE EVER DRIVES} SHE NEVER LET ME DOWN .

COULD BE BECAUSE MY COUSIN, STEPHEN LUCAS AND I SPENT ABOUT EVERY OTHER WAKING HOUR WORKING ON IT. BUT, I THINK IT WAS JUST BECAUSE IT WAS A GREAT CAR.

SHE IS NOW 43 YEARS OLD AND I'M VERY HAPPY TO SAY WE'RE STILL TOGETHER. SHE REST IN MY SHOP NOW AND THROUGH THE THICK LAYER OF DUST AND MISSING PAINT YOU CAN TELL THE BLUE IS NOT AS BRIGHT AS IT WAS IN 1986. THE SEATS ARE NOW TORN AND BRITTLE. YOU CAN SEE SOME HIGH SCHOOL YEARS BATTLE SCARS AND SOME SATURDAY NIGHT ONES ALSO. BUT, THE CHROME BUMPERS STILL SHINE LIKE STARS ON DARK CLEAR  COLD NIGHT.

THE CAPE FEAR PARKING PERMIT STICKER ON THE BUMPER IS FADED NOW, BUT STILL CAN BE READ. IN THE TRUNK, MY BOOK BAG STILL SITS WHERE I LEFT IT THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL ALONG WITH A NOW  VERY LATE LIBRARY BOOK,{ BUT I DONT THINK THAT WAS MINE.} OPEN THE DOOR, GET IN AND ITS 1986 AGAIN. THE 86 TASSLE STILL HANGS ON THE REAR VIEW MIRROR THE BLUE HAS NOW FADED TO A PURPLE BUT THE GOLD STILL SHINES LIKE THE DAY WE GOT THEM. OPEN THE CENTER CONSOLE AND ITS LIKE A TIME CAPSULE, MY SCHOOL ID, PENCILS, LIGHTERS, SHOTGUN SHELLS, FORGED SIGNATURE CHECK IN LATE NOTES AND EVEN A STACK OF CHECK OUT EARLY NOTES SIGNED BY NONE OTHER THAN MRS. RHONE HERSELF NOT REALLY SIGNED BY HER BUT COPIED FROM AN ORIGINAL, FOR A JUST IN CASE! AND A FEW PICTURES OF PAST DAYS INCLUDING ONE THAT WAS TAKEN THAT CRAZY NIGHT AFTER PROM AT WHITE LAKE. THAT ABSOLUTELY PROVES TO THE WORLD THAT GOLF CARTS DON'T FLOAT. EVEN THOUGH ITS BEEN A LONG TIME NOW SINCE IT WAS CRANKED. I'M SURE THE OLD MOTOR UNDER THE HOOD WILL STILL RUN STRONG.

I FEEL BLESSED BECAUSE ONCE IN A WHILE I'LL GET IN, SHUT THE DOOR AND I CAN BE BACK IN HIGH SCHOOL NO STRESS, NO WORRIES![ AT LEAST NOT THE KIND WE HAVE TODAY} THE BEST PART IS I CAN REMENANCE ABOUT ALL OF THE GOOD TIMES I HAD WITH YOU THE CLASS OF 1986.

WHAT CAN I SAY BUT I'M CAR CRAZY. I ALWAYS HAVE BEEN AND LOOKS LIKE I ALWAYS WILL BE. I HAVE MANY CARS NOW BUT NONE AS SPECIAL AS "MY HIGH SCHOOL CRUSH".

I CAN STILL TELL YOU ALOT OF THE CARS THAT PEOPLE DROVE. LIKE TRACYS' WHITE CAMARO, REGGIES' BLUE IROC, SHANNONS' RED MUSTANG, JAY LEONARDS' FORD ELITE, MIKES' RED TOYOTA TRUCK,  JOHNNY KNIGHTS RED AND WHITE 56 CHEVROLET THAT HE DESTROYED ON BAYWOOD RD AND KENNY STRICKLANDS' TRANS AM. THE LIST GOES ON AND ON.

MY HOPE IS TO FIX HER BACK TO HER GLORY DAYS. I HAVE BEEN IMPATIENTLY WAITING TO DO THIS FOR A LONG TME BUT I AM VERY VERY PATIENTLY WAITING FOR MY TWO KIDS WHICH ARE 10 AND 6 TO GET A LITTLE OLDER SO THAT WE CAN SHARE IN THIS VERY SPECIAL PROJECT TOGETHER IN HOPE THAT THEY WILL HAVE GREAT MEMORIES THAT I HAVE HAD WHEN THEY DRVE IT TO CAPE FEAR.

IN ENDING, THIS PROMISE TO THE CLASS OF 86 I MAKE TO YOU. UNTIL THE LORD CALLS ME HOME THE PARKING DECAL ON THE SHINY CHROME BUMPER AND THE NOW FADED 86 TASSLE WILL STAND IN PLACE........BECAUSE YOU JUST NEVER EVER KNOW YOU  JUST MIGHT  NEED A RIDE TO SCHOOL ONE DAY!!!!

New Deadlines

We are no longer accepting credit card payments. If you have not paid please forward your check at this time to Renee at her address listed on the event page. You can also hand deliver to me or James if that is easier. We will deposit the checks on February 1st. Everyone attending the reunion needs to be registered and paid by Feb 1st so encourage anyone on the fence to get busy. We would like to thank everyone for participating and for your efforts to track down missing classmates and encouraging friends to attend. It really has been a group effort and I think we will all be rewarded on February 11th as friendships are renewed. Charles, James, and Renee

Reunion committee

Just wanted to say how great I think that your efforts are. Renee, Charles and James, I can only speak for myself but I'm sure others would agree that your work and effort is very much appreciated. There are so many that wanted this to happen for a long time and you guys stepped up when I could not. I thankyou very much. If my work schedule does not interfere I would love to attend.

With much appreciation and love, Steve Sinkhorn.....

Reunion dress/attire

Bathing suits are optional.......opps wrong party. Seriously, dressy casual to semi-formal is fine, we want to keep the relaxed atmosphere so no need to over do it.   Charles

I will help

I don't know where alot of these classmates are, but there are quite a few that I do.  I will contact all that I can and post it on my facebook too.  I'd love for us all to get together and remember the past 25 years.  It'll be like a mid-age prom of sorts.  The only difference, is that we won't have to sneak the drinks in now, lol
